Discover everything you need to know about defeating the Sister Splinter boss in Hollow Knight Silksong, including some useful tips.

Sister Splinter Boss Hollow Knight Silksong

Sister Splinter is one of the deadliest bosses in Hollow Knight Silksong due to her ability to deal massive damage with her attacks. The boss has three phases in total, and each one has its own unique attack pattern. She summons two minions and spiked vines to make the fight move challenging. Use abilities like Swift Step to dash while she tries to attack you in combat.

Upgrade your weapon before engaging a fight with this boss. Warding Bell and Reaper Crest are the best items to bring in this fight. Make your way to the top of Shellwood to encounter the Sister Spinter in Hollow Knight Silksong. In this guide, we’ll discuss how to defeat Sister Splinter in Hollow Knight Silksong, including the rewards.

How To Find Sister Splinter in Hollow Knight: Silksong

After defeating the Moorwing, you can move into the Haunted Bellhart. Following a cutscene, sit down at the bench to rest. If you exit the game while sitting at this bench and then load back in, you will be temporarily trapped in the strands of silk like the other NPCs. In any case, you don’t yet have the map for Bellheart, but you just need to move west until reaching the next area, Shellwood. From there, move up and through this large chamber in a sort of S shape, going back and forth as we make our way up.

  • The goal is to eventually reach the top west exit. You will then need to drop down to the west to enter a boss chamber.
  • Here, you have to fight off multiple waves of enemies.
  • The worst ones are the stickbugs, and I recommend storing up silk to hit them with a couple of Silkspears. This allows you to dispatch them quickly.
  • Once all waves have been defeated, we can move out to the west, then go up a series of platforms to reach a purchasable bench.

This bench costs 60 Rosaries to permanently activate. However, this will serve as a checkpoint for two separate boss fights, so it is well worth the investment. You still don’t have the map for this area. Moving down and to the west of the bench, you can enter a new chamber and ride a lift all the way down. Move through the bottom west exit to reach a new chamber where Shakra is waiting.

Both the maps for Bellhart and Shellwood are available for purchase. Purchase them before continuing west.

  • Ignore the signs pointing towards the bottom western exit. Instead, move up the nearby platforming section, nail-bouncing off the white flowers to ascend.
  • Our goal is to reach the top east exit out of this chamber.
  • Move further up and east, going through the first exit you see.
  • There is a side quest item at the top of this chamber, but you will just continue moving east.
  • Go up and further east in the next chamber, then activate and use the lift that is near the top east exit.

This lift will serve as a shortcut, bringing us directly to that Bench we unlocked earlier. To reach the next major boss from the bench, you will ride the newly opened lift back up. After that, go through the eastern exit. Moving through this short platforming section will get you to the top west exit. This will lead directly to the boss’s chamber.

How To Defeat Sister Splinter

Sister Splinter is not too difficult to defeat. Just quickly destroy the splinters she makes. This allows you to have enough room to maneuver and avoid her simple attack pattern, while getting in plenty of your own hits. The only thing that makes the fight tough is the ads she spawns, which are super dangerous and annoying to deal with. The best way to take them out is to hit them with Silkspears or a couple of ranged offensive tools, assuming you have those at your disposal.

Phase 1

Sister Splinter Phase 1 Hollow Knight Silksong
Sister Splinter Phase 1 Hollow Knight Silksong

The Sister Splinter is one of the hardest bosses to defeat in Hollow Knight Silksong due to its devastating attacks like Triple Slam, Summon Ally, and Multi Thorns. The boss does three pounds on the ground with their hands in a repetitive mode. The damage increases with time, so make sure to get out of the way to avoid taking any damage. She starts attacking you when the fight begins.

Use the Swift Step ability to dash away from its attacks. We recommend you keep moving and using Dash throughout the fight. Standing in a single position gives opportunity to the boss to attack and kill you first.

Make sure to jump to hit her while dodging her attacks. You need to hit her three to four times to deal massive damage when you have the opportunity. Fight with the Sister Splinter in an aggressive mode and be offensive, allowing you to lower her health.

The boss will disappear to summon spikes after she completes her first attacks. These spikes will mitigate your movement, giving opportunity to the boss to attack you. Make sure you’re standing near the spiked vine, and the boss will hurt herself due to her pounds. Repeat the process again and again till the boss falls on the ground. You have to stay calm during the fight, as any wrong move can lead you to deep trouble.

Phase 2

Sister Splinter Phase 2 Hollow Knight Silksong

Sister Splinter will summon two different foes in the arena once she rises up from the ground and disappears. These two enemies will spawn from both sides of the arena, indicated by the dust falling from the ceiling. Make sure to take your position and use dash ability or jump to attack them with your upgraded needle.

Before engaging a fight with the make, it’s best to upgrade your weapon to deal more damage. Only three attacks from your weapon are enough to defeat these enemies. Defeat the first one and approach the other one to kill it.

The boss will appear in the arena with a triple slam after you defeat those two enemies. More spiked vines will appear in the arena to make your life more complicated. You can again move near any spiked vine and dash when she jumps to attack you. This will let you deal massive damage because her agility is the same as in phase 1.

Use any opportunity you get to attack her and deal damage. Attack her two to three times while dodging her arms. After she takes enough damage, she will fall to the ground while screaming.

Phase 3

Sister Splinter Phase 3 Hollow Knight Silksong

The boss is more aggressive in the last phase, and her attacks become more powerful and damage-dealing. She summoned the allies and spiked vines at once to make the fight more challenging. Your best bet is to dash and be attentive to her attacks.

Take out the minions in the first place and demolish all the vines to make space in the arena. Keep using Dash to avoid her attacks with arms. Don’t try to focus on her minions and vines, as you will hurt yourself by doing so.

Get rid of the obstacles to make the fight easier, as killing the boss is not that challenging. Your goal is to deal more damage to enemies with more hits from your weapon.

Rewards For Defeating Sister Splinter

You can unlock the path to the right after eliminating the Sister Splinter. Moving to the right will lead you to the topmost part of Shellwood, where you can unlock the Cling Grip ability. So, defeating the boss allows you to unlock the upper section of Shellwood.
