Indiana Jones and the Great Circle is launching on Nintendo Switch 2 on May 12, 2026. The game is surprisingly going to be fully on the game cartridge for the physical edition.
Nintendo Everything interviewed Creative Director at MachineGames, Axel Torvenius, about the game on Switch 2 and revealed interesting information, including how it performs.
Axel Torvenius confirmed that Indiana Jones and the Great Circle on the Switch 2 will run at a locked 30 FPS throughout. It will be 1080p in docked mode and 720p in handheld mode.
“We use a dynamic native resolution in the game. A lot of the time the game runs at full resolution, without the need for DLSS. When we need to drop resolution to maintain frame rate, we use DLSS to upscale the game to 1080p in docked mode and 720p in handheld.”
In the interview, he goes on to say they had to reduce the number of free-roaming NPCs in a specific location. They want to make sure the player will have a strong, high-quality experience on the Switch 2.
Indiana Jones and the Great Circle will also take advantage of the Joy-Con 2 mouse controller functionality and gyro motion controls for movement.
Indiana Jones and the Great Circle released on December 9, 2024 for Xbox Series and PC. The PS5 version released April 17, 2025.
