Jack Black has been announced to play Steve in the upcoming Minecraft movie that is aimed to come out on April 4, 2025. In a recent interview with IGN, Jack Black was asked how he has prepared for the film and he said he has been dedicating his time exclusively to playing Minecraft for over a month.

Jack Black has played Minecraft before but he is getting back into it building his houses and exploring the large world the game has to offer. 

The Minecraft Movie will also star Jason Momoa and Danielle Brooks and the film’s location takes place in New Zealand where production began in late December 2023.
