Earlier this year, Sony made it official at CES 2025 that Helldivers will be getting a movie alongside other PlayStation IPs like Horizon Zero Dawn. Today, The Hollywood Reporter made it official that Justin Lin, best known for his work on the Fast and Furious action movies, is going to direct the Helldivers movie.
Justin Lin will produce the movie via Perfect Storm Entertainment along with Hutch Parker and PlayStation Productions’ Asad Qizilbash and Carter Swan.
Helldivers 2 was released in 2024 for PC and PS5, and on Xbox Series consoles this year. It became one of Sony Interactive Entertainment’s most popular games last year. Helldivers 2 sold over 12 million units on PS5 and PC in the first four months of launch.
When Helldivers 2 came to Xbox, a Halo: ODST crossover was introduced to the game, bringing the iconic armor, weapon skins, New Mombasa, and more to the game from Halo 3: ODST.
