It was just at the last run of days for August that Valve announced a new collaborative project with the community user base for Left 4 Dead 2. This new initiative dubbed ‘The Last Stand’ shared to be a fan-fueled update which would reinvigorate the base game offering new content among a slew of new additions that were either not included originally or conjured uniquely for the coming client.
Sharing a brief set of teasers for an overview of the update, fans could gather their excitement for the coming free add-on that will be arriving in what seems to be a fairly soon release window. Now, Valve has officially pulled the lever and The Last Stand is shared to feature an abundance of new content with a timeframe set for the coming week.
You can watch the official trailer in the video below:
“Grab your friends and tackle the zombie horde in over twenty new survival arenas, four new scavenge arenas, and a campaign based on The Lighthouse survival map,” the overview reads on the recent blog post for the update. “New achievements, melee weapons, animations, dialog, competitive balance adjustments, and other surprises round out this official update for Left 4 Dead 2 created by the community, for the community.”
Elaborating more on the contents of said update, players can find about 20 new survival maps that will be included into the game with finer tuned animations and overall quality of life tweaks to better the experience.
