Lucasfilms Confirms Cal Kestis To Make More Appearances After The Star Wars Jedi Trilogy

2023 came with the release of Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, and it left a lasting impact while not answering all of our questions of the first release. Scored a 9/10, Rectify Gaming in our review penned that “while the game doesn’t move the genre forward meaningfully, it’s still an excellent game that I highly recommend to any Star Wars fan. It’s the next great Star Wars single-player game that many of us have been waiting for since the original one surprised all of us.”

Beyond the release of the second Respawn Entertainment installment, it is no doubt a third entry is on the way. Via online job postings, it was uncovered that the developer is already hiring for the third title of the trilogy. However, fans are eager to see more of protagonist Cal Kestis in other mediums later on. Actor Cameron Monaghan expressed interest, but only if it is used “in the right context.”

Now this week when speaking to Game Rant, Lucasfilms has confirmed that there are exterior plans for the video game Jedi following the third game currently in development. When pressed about the future of Cal Kestis concluding his trilogy, a representative said to the outlet: Never say never. We’ve got his lightsaber in the park. We’ve got more Cal stories coming.” 

For some time, many have been eager to see Monaghan’s portrayal in other forms of Star Wars media. With projects like The Mandalorian TV series and even the new live-action blockbuster The Mandalorian & Grogu, there has been nods to Kestis’ timeline in there. Without making a direct appearance, there have been multiple instances that BD droids did show up that reference the Respawn Entertainment series.

Currently, the next Star Wars title on the way – at least that is understood to release within the fiscal year – is Star Wars: Zero Company.
