This week, Microsoft officially held its Developer_Direct presentation. The showcase is yet another attempt at the firm’s grasp to livestreamed shows that will grab the viewer’s attention. While the previous ‘Inside Xbox’ format was in good heart, it did not hold its weight with segments stranding out more than hoped. However, this new presentation proved to be an improvement.
From the showcase, Microsoft featured five new announcements: Minecraft Legends release date, shadowdrop for Hi-Fi Rush, confirming more than 500+ cars for the Forza Motorsport remake, revealing the new Necrom expansion for The Elder Scrolls Online, and issuing the official May release date for Redfall coming this spring.
In the summary Xbox Wire blog post, Microsoft sheded more light on its plans for later on in 2023. This June, a presentation will be held to further reveal its plans for Xbox. It is indicated to be yet another ‘Xbox & Bethesda’ internally held which is separate to the annual E3 active in June.
As we announced previously, in order to dedicate the proper amount of time for a deep dive into Bethesda Game Studios’ Starfield, a standalone show is in the works. In addition to this, our teams are working hard and look forward to sharing even more of what is next for our fans when we return to Los Angeles for our yearly Showcase this summer.

More interesting is this coming show will be in-person as Microsoft words “sharing even more of what is next for our fans when we return to Los Angeles.” Since the 2020 pandemic, many events once held in-person resorted to livestreams as a new precedent. Now Microsoft appears to be returning to live shows for 2023 in the summer. Assuming the show will take place in the Microsoft Theater.
Alongside the new announcements this week, Microsoft also featured its newest arrivals for Xbox Game Pass on Wednesday. This includes the already gravitating Hi-Fi Rush, Goldeneye 007, Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition, and more. You can read the full report by heading here.
