The ongoing video game streaming initiative Project xCloud going underway over at Microsoft has continued to reel in more users as players on the Android landscape of mobile devices have indulged in the new service for about a few months now. However, the remaining player base on Microsoft’s platform who own an Apple product have been let in the dark as support for iOS has yet to be added to the gaming initiative.

Now in an surprise announcement made earlier this week, Microsoft has announced that TestFlight for iOS devices have commenced and will be available for the first 10,000 participants who sign-up for the client playtest. Additionally, Microsoft also clarified that there is only one game that users will be able to play, Halo: The Master Chief Collection.

While players are not granted the same extended library as those on the Android side of the river, 343 Industries’ anthology of titles surely is enough to experience the capabilities for Project xCloud. Aside from the limiting amount of games, Microsoft does clarify that this is due to certain “policy” on the App Store which strictens what the test will launch with.

Other differences that come with the iOS version of Project xCloud expands to discovering that players with Apple devices will not be provided with the additional Xbox Console Streaming application for the time being. As of now, applications for the 10,000 participants have been filled, but Microsoft does tell that participants might not experience the full TestFlight duration “because of how iOS TestFlight works.” Adding on, it is cited that this could lead to late sign-up being invited to the TestFight later down the line.

As for the set requirements for the iOS TestFlight, players will need an Microsoft account with a gamertag linked first of all. Their Apple device must be running on at least iOS 13 or newer alongside Bluetooth 4.0 as well. A Bluetooth compatible Xbox Controller is also suggested to be a necessity for iOS’ Project xCloud.

Elsewhere this week, Samsung announced in conjunction with Microsoft to be partnering on interpreting Project xCloud to the company’s line of mobile devices. You can read the full report by heading here.
