EA Sports Madden NFL 27 to release on Switch 2 in August

EA Sports Madden NFL 27 is going to be released on Nintendo Switch 2 from the looks of it. An early listing on the Nintendo eShop appeared earlier in the week for the game, suggesting it will launch on August 13. It’s assumed that would be the release date for Xbox Series, PC, and PlayStation 5 versions.

The listing for Madden NFL 27 on Switch 2 indicates the file size will be 50 GB.

Electronic Arts has not officially announced the game’s release or provided any information about the game. It’s obvious they will be planning to announce it soon.

Madden NFL 27 on the Switch 2 will have touchscreen support in handheld mode and will also have HDR. Multiplayer supports up to 4 players locally and 2 to 6 players online.

When Madden NFL 26 was released on the Nintendo Switch 2, it was a pleasant surprise. It had lead sales on the eShop during the summer of 2025 alongside Mario Kart World and Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition. It’s a good sign that EA Sports is continuing to support the console with its most popular sports title.
