No doubt, cloud streaming in gaming has become a norm for the industry as more players are finding playtime more accessible across the globe. Efforts like Xbox Cloud Gaming as well as NVIDIA GeForce Now is proving to be a candidates to alternative means to play new releases. Previously, we saw the two partner to bring Xbox titles to NVIDIA’s service a few years back.

Additionally, both have offered its services when Fortnite was out of the equation on mobile for both Android & iOS as well. But, there has been massive changes to how these services are handled too. This fall, Microsoft announced that Xbox Game Pass Ultimate will be charged at $30 a month, which does limit the entry for the subscription as its the most definitive tier for Xbox Cloud Gaming.

And now recently, NVIDIA is reshaping GeForce Now in what players will be able to do per month. It was revealed that GeForce Now starting next year will implement a new 100-hour window for playtime for all tiers. In the past, this was available for roughly a year for the cheaper tiers, but is now active for all tiers.

“At the start of next year, GeForce NOW will roll out a 100-hour monthly playtime allowance to continue providing exceptional quality and speed — as well as shorter queue times — for Performance and Ultimate members. This ample limit comfortably accommodates 94% of members, who typically enjoy the service well within this timeframe,” the firm explains in the press release.

Adding: “Up to 15 hours of unused playtime will automatically roll over to the next month for members, and additional hours can be purchased at $2.99 for 15 additional hours of Performance, or $5.99 for 15 additional Ultimate hours.” This comes as a major surprise as the Xbox firm has not even implemented such a rule – at least, not yet.

Similarly, there has been some nods to the concept in other regards for Xbox Cloud Gaming. As per discussions of an ad-based tier for players to engage in for free, there is a limit for that. It was reported to be about 5 hours a month in the initial testing for the tier. You can read the full report by heading here.
