Just about a day ago, developer NetherRealm Studios revealed a new tease for an upcoming content drop for the currently ongoing Mortal Kombat 11. The 2019-launched game has already received a bevy of new additions alongside cross-platform play implementation between Xbox and PlayStation, however, not to the extent as what was revealed in the teaser trailer.

Following the events of the game’s base storyline, Raiden and Lui Kang meet once the calm has settled to be greeted with Shang Tsung who demands to help in properly settling the noise that has been inflicted on the world. Taken from the teaser, it was only interpreted that NetherRealm Studios would provide new story content to the game with the chance of new stages for players to experience. But following today’s full trailer, there is more than what was expected.

Alongside the predicted extended story add-on for Mortal Kombat 11, NetherRealm Studios has also revealed to be showcasing a handful of new characters to the fight as well. You can watch the trailer in the video below:

Taken from the first look at the upcoming expansion dubbed ‘Aftermath’, players can expect a new campaign of content to the game’s story that continues the decades-long story behind Mortal Kombat. The synopsis for the story tells to “take you in a time-bending new narrative that pits Raiden against Kronika, the Keeper of Time who created existence at the dawn of history.”

As for the new roster additions, NetherRealm Studios showcases the debut for Fujin, Sheeva and Peter Weller’s Robo Cop. Getting a closer look at the expansion also reveals that a free update will be coming the same day that Aftermath arrives at the end of the month. The update includes new Friendships, Stages, and Stage Fatalities. Alongside the standalone expansion, there is also a separate Mortal Kombat 11 Kollection that will offer the base game. Kombat Pack, and Aftermath expansion.
