Knowing what developer Starbreeze pushed out recently, Payday 3 is still being worked on in post-launch. Although many waited over a decade for the newest entry for the series, Payday 3 underperforms in some of its most basic features. The biggest being a requirement for a constant internet connection. However, the team did address it is working to remove this sometime in a future update.

Our review for the game we gave it a 7/10. “There’s some good fun to be had, but it fizzles quickly if you aren’t a dedicated player. […] Unfortunately there aren’t that many missions and playing solo is a difficult endeavor thanks to poor AI.” But now with Payday 3 the team’s current focus, another title is in development as well for Starbreeze as well.

In a recent blog post, Starbreeze announced a new collaboration with Wizards of the Coast on a brand new licensed game for Dungeons & Dragons. The game is said to feature cross-play with a focus on live-service gameplay.

Dungeons and Dragons is having an extraordinary year. Our gaming brands, including Dungeons & Dragons, continue to attract great partners as we execute our plan to grow our digital games portfolio through licensing and development. Our collaboration with Starbreeze is a prime illustration of this strategy. Given their impressive games and passion for Dungeons & Dragons, we are confident that they will create an experience that will delight fans worldwide.
