It was earlier this month that a rumor emerged suggesting that Disney+ is inbound to be receiving a Kingdom Hearts show. We Got This Covered heard from whispers in the grapevine which disclosed that the project will be a live action production and feature the prominent cast of characters involved in the Square Enix series. The outlet goes on to suspect that the plot for the episodic series would be a reboot due to the complexity of the storyline.
And while the claim at the time stood only as a baseless claim, it now looks more on this unannounced project is seeping through the cracks from other individuals that have heard a similar story recently.
Coming from MCUCosmic founder Jeremy Conrad, he made a tweet recently stating the rumor is legit and posting a GIF from the game. DisInsider Editor-in-Chief Skyler Shuler also discusses the project in a quote tweet later on after being tagged in the post. Shuler discloses that the project is actually an animated project rather than the initially rumored live action production.
While also reiterating that the Kingdom Hearts project is a television series, Shuler tells some exciting news for fans for the games. Shuler unveils that recognized voice actors for their portrayed characters from Disney will be involved in voicing their respected personas in the show. He shares that Bill Farmer, Jim Cummings, and Tony Anselmo will be present for the unannounced project.
Elsewhere in a separate tweet, Cinema Spot writer Emre Kaya also told to have heard the production will be an animated project and elaborated more on the matters. He tells that the project was handed over to Square Enix to produce the pilot for the show. “Disney originally wanted to make it but that didn’t work out, so Square Enix was asked to create a pilot using Unreal Engine.”
Adding on, Kaya also disclosed that the confusion for a live-action show might have been misinterpreted by the pilot being a computer-generated production. But unlike the what Shuler said, Kaya tells that casting for the series is still underway for the Kingdom Hearts show for Disney+.
What Do you hope to see with a clearer picture in mind for the Kingdom Hearts series?
