It was a historic weekend for the New York Esports scene as the NY Excelsior had their first ever Overwatch League homestand where they dominated. This also marked the first time a New York City Esports team hosted a home match and the second team will be the Subliners of the Call of Duty League.

The Excelsior defeated the London Spitfire 3-1 in front of a sold-out crowd at the iconic Hammerstein Ballroom to kick-off the third season of the Overwatch League. Then, closed out their historic weekend defeating the Boston Uprising 3-0 in front of a sold-out crowd.
During this homestand the Dallas Fuel were also hosting their home opener which included the Vancouver Titans, Los Angeles Valiant, Los Angeles Gladiators, and the San Francisco Shock.
What are your thoughts on the franchise model of esports with the Overwatch and Call of Duty League?
