Although the prophecy initially foretold about a potential Nintendo Direct to be arriving in February last month never arrived, that does not leave the credibility of the leak to be fully wrong. Joking aside, known industry insider on Twitter @SabiWabii endorsed an alleged leak which disclosed that a standard Direct presentation was planned to take place in February alongside an Indie World showcase the following month.
However, the rumor that Sabi shared to be legitimate ended up being false as were are now three months into the new year with no news still. But that statement happens to be half right as Nintendo just today announced that a surprise Indie World livestream will be hosted tomorrow on March 17.
In the Twitter post, Nintendo shares that this approaching Direct will only be about twenty minutes in duration on the “indie games coming to #NintendoSwitch.” Regarding the lineup of titles that will be showcased like potential candidates for Nintendo’s hybrid handheld console, there seems to be a tight lip on the roster this time around in contrast to previously hosted presentations.
For instance, the properties that leaked prior happened to be very notable entires for the indie market. Titles like BlueBrick’s Superhot, Dennaton Games’ Hotline Miami Collection, and Moon Studios’ Ori and the Blind Forest were some mentioned ahead of their proper announcement for Nintendo Switch.
What independently developer titles would you want to ship for the Switch?
The latest Indie World presentation is slated for March 17, 2020 for 10 AM PST / 1 PM EST.
