This week has been one cluster of news surrounding the Nintendo Switch following this week’s Direct presentation. While the company did already shadow drop some games like the free-to-start Super Kirby Clash, Nintendo still has more to reveal as soon as next week for the handheld console.
In an abrupt trailer that emerged on the company’s YouTube channel, it teases that a new way to use the intuitive Switch is on the horizon. The video revealing that there will be two new products that Switch owners will be able to use: an motion-tracking ring and a leg strap. Both will require you to attach a Joy Con in efforts to track the motion you’re making when playing the game on screen.
Although we did see a lot of movement from this new content that will be coming, we did not get a good look at the screen. Nintendo deliberately did this to hold interest for the big reveal which will be next Thursday, September 12. Following the sudden teaser, users online have showed to be more confused to what exactly this might be over interest of the new implemented motion controls coming to the Nintendo Switch.
Just from a glance at the workout-like motions the people made in the video, it could possibly be the Switch’s version of Wii Fit that Nintendo is looking to combat as the latest console continues to grasp in popularity. Combining sales of both 2007’s and the follow-up expansion of Wii Fit Plus reaches a rough estimate of 44 million units sold, so to compete against these odds would be monumental for Nintendo if achieved with the Switch.
