E3 2018 is right around the corner and we at Rectify Gaming have been coming up with some predictions of what might happen at this years show from Microsoft, Sony, Nintendo, Bethesda, Ubisoft, EA, Square Enix, and others. We asked most of our staff what they think is going to be announced and some of them have interesting predictions.
Back in April we put up an exclusive article about the upcoming 3rd party marketing rights for Xbox One and so far Shadow of The Tomb Raider has been confirmed as well as the obvious ones like Anthem and Metro Exodus. We still have confidence in the others as well.
First off lets take a look at our very own Gregory Dawes also known as Wifiplayer13’s E3 2018 predictions:
Nintendo:
Smash Switch will contain most content from Smash 4, with some cutbacks for additional characters/stages.

Playdead with a new indie title that will win biggest indie surprise. Telltale with an emotional heart wrenching new ip. No new consoles. Mass Effect absent – but will be there in 2019. Xbox with some major esports announcement. Battle Royale. Battle Royale everything. Pokemon battle Royale. Fifa 2019 Battle Royale. EA’s presentation will become an audience battle royale.

Tyler ‘Tyboy’ Nienburg:
This E3 is going to be one of the more bigger ones we’ve had this generation especially with Microsoft and what people expect from them which is all games and of course Nintendo will have some big reveals as well.
So here are my predictions
Xbox Conference – Multiple third party titles on stage like Anthem, Borderlands 3 and Cyberpunk 2077.
Banjo Kazooie Anniversary being revealed would be a big deal.
A spin-off Gears of War title.
A new Xbox One Elite Controller.
The next Halo title will be shown or just a very small teaser with Bonnie Ross on stage.
ID@Xbox showcase.
A new colored Xbox One X or custom edition of a big title coming this Fall/Holiday.
Forza Horizon 4, but there’s a chance it could be in a surprise location rather than Japan
Battlefield V Single Player trailer
Crackdown 3 being shown on stage again showing improvements with a release date with Terry Crews coming on stage.
At the end of the conference or somewhere near it they’ll talk about ‘Project XCloud’. We share more information below in the article.
Nintendo:
Fortnite on Switch revealed.
Animal Crossing Switch revealed with 2019 release.
A popular indie title being announced coming to the Switch
A new EA Sports game like NHL 19 will be announced for the Switch sometime during E3 not during the direct.
A new Ubisoft title and Bethesda title shown on the Switch maybe Watch Dogs and Fallout 4?
Ubisoft:
Watch Dogs 3 and Splinter Cell
Sony:
Apart from the obvious first party titles I think we see a Battle Royale game with exclusive content, Red Dead Redemption trailer or more, Call of Duty, and Destiny 2.
Bethesda:
DOOM 2
More Rage 2
Starfield
Something Elder Scrolls related
Something Fallout

Microsoft’s Xbox is going through a lull of exclusives. Last year, it might have been one of the most disappointed years in recent memories for Xbox gamers in terms of exclusive games. We also know the Xbox team has fully acknowledged this issue and this year’s E3 is the best time to show everyone what the team at Redmond has done these past few years.
Crackdown 3 will finally get a release date probably around August or September this year to avoid clashing with other big AAA games like Battlefield V, CoD: Black Ops 4 and Red Dead Redemption.
Without any surprises, I think Microsoft will unveil Forza Horizon’s next chapter with Horizon 4 being set in Japan or Hong Kong.
The big blockbuster Xbox exclusives like Halo and Gears of War might get something unveiled this year, however, something leads me to believe 343 is working hard to bring Halo 6 as soon as possible but at the same time they are being very cautious on bringing the best possible Halo experience to fans. With that said, I can see 343 teasing Halo 6 this year with a 2019 release date and probably a spin-off launching in 2018 (pls Halo 3: Anniversary).
Same can be said for The Coalition, we all know they are working on the next Gears of War game alongside some rumors of a possible Gears of War 2: Ultimate Edition releasing this year. Either way, I’m very excited to see what these two teams have been making for the past few years.

In April, we at Rectify posted an exclusive article about Microsoft’s Marketing Rights for certain 3rd party titles like Borderlands 3, Cyberpunk 2077, Anthem, Shadow of The Tomb Raider, and more.
Now we are here to talk about this thing called ‘Project XCloud’ and now most of you are probably thinking that this is game streaming like PS Now, but according to our source it’s nothing close to PlayStation Now.
If you remember back in 2015 Microsoft was talking about the cloud being with Crackdown 3 and how the title proves the Xbox One is the most powerful console in the cloud. Our source claims to us that this ‘Project XCloud’ is more similar to the Crackdown 3 stuff we heard 3 years ago.
Earlier in the year some outlets were talking about Microsoft leaning on cloud gaming
There were some hints thrown around a couple weeks ago at the Microsoft Build conference where Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella might have hinted that we’d hear their plans for cloud gaming on Xbox One:
https://twitter.com/Daniel_Rubino/status/993537753177444353
Jez Corden also caught this listing:
https://twitter.com/JezCorden/status/994380404298838016
The logo you saw above was sent to us from our source who told us the information on Xbox One X, ReCore Definitive Edition, and of course the marketing rights for Xbox. Not only did he share us the presumably official logo for Project XCloud, he also supplied us a list of developers/publishers in on this project as well.
Here are some of them that were listed:
Electronic Arts
Ubisoft
Activision
CD Projekt Red
2K Games
Konami
Crystal Dynamics
Insomniac Games
Gearbox Software
Turn 10
343 Industries
Blizzard Entertainment
Rockstar Games
Bungie
Mojang
Bethesda Game Studios
Avalanche Studios
DICE
Warner Brothers
Those are just to name a few.
It’s hard to really say what ‘Project XCloud’ will really be, but we assume it could be at E3 towards the end of the show where they almost always talk about an upcoming new feature coming to the Xbox platform like Mike Ybarra did in 2016 with groups, tournaments, etc and last year with OG Xbox BC. I would also expect the Cloud logo on screen if they do talk about it at E3.
With ‘Project XCloud’ seemingly being related to the Crackdown 3 cloud processing features, it is entirely possible that it is a way for all developers to be able to utilize cloud computing to enhance their titles. Being able to offload some CPU intensive processes to the cloud could help free some up for better performance, especially on older boxes. It’s been some time since Microsoft discussed the cloud features in Crackdown 3, but with the game certainly appearing at E3, it shouldn’t be long until we hear more.
Our source also confirmed about Xbox Game Renting coming soon which was leaked a couple months ago as well, but did not provide an exact date or area when we could expect it.
