Slime-San from the team over at The Fabraz Company have been out for a year now on PC and a bit shorter on the Nintendo Switch, but now the cute little slime will be making its way towards the Playstation 4 and Xbox One. At PAX East this year I got to demo and asked some questions about the game with one of the developers at the booth about the upcoming title.
Q1: Who is Slime-San and their story?
A: Slime-San gets eaten by a worm when running through a forest and must travel through the worm to find an escape. Slime-San is based on a level1 enemy you’d see in games, and we want to make a game on the adventure it would get itself in.
Q2: How did you create the world with so much detail even with it’s 8-bit appearance?
A: We used our influence from older platform games to create the world. We focused on clarity using different colors to indicate objects and obstacles so it doesn’t blend in with the background.
Q3: What influenced the gameplay?
A: Originally this was a short project we did, platform was easy to make. Along with us all growing up on platformers we wanted to go back to the game and expand on the idea.
Q4: Do you have any other plans after this edition releases for the game?
A: Depends on how people receive the game. Possibly could do a level editor or even a new campaign. If it doesn’t do as good as we hope, we’ll move onto the next project.
Slime-San Superslime Edition will come with the same extra content as on PC, 10 new levels, a new play style and new game elements.
