Game informer recently released a video interview with The Taken King’s creative director Luke Smith and executive producer Mark Noseworthy.

In the interview the guys share exactly where they see Destiny is going in The Taken King expansion coming this fall.

The main theme of the interview seemed to be that of story.
Story that has been missing in-game since the first release of Destiny back in Q4 of 2014.

The team is well aware of what players feel they are lacking when playing this ground breaking FPS meets MMOP (shared world shooter).  It’s been very clear to gamers that the Destiny that was pitched to them leading up to the launch of the game was in fact not how it was actually package and sold.

Now is as good a time as ever to change all that was missed. The leading bots voice, the story (that was there but hidden away in cards stashed away on a Bungie server), it’s all getting an overhaul.

Well.. the Grimoire Cards will still be around, but Luke says we will be getting more hints and details about the story by way of scannable items strewn about the planets. Find a mound of bones, or maybe a strange looking worm? Scan it for a quick story about what it is you’re seeing.

Quest Are The Best!

Players have been asking for a more simplified form of Destiny gameplay.  Where before after starting up for a night of gaming you might have visited the bounty bot and picked up some things to do, now you can visit different vendors for your quest. The Vanguard and faction reps have all been confirmed to have separate workable story missions that a guardian can seek out for unexpected loot and treasure. These side missions are being called Quest Lines. Each to have several doable parts that ask different things to complete the mission.

Quest lines operate allot like exotic weapon bounties and how each have a separate line requiring the player to complete each step before gaining the ultimate reward.

Who’s Talking?

Characters speaking to you in game will now show up in the upper right hand corner of the screen to better assist the player in understand just who is speaking at the time.

Small additions like these are important to helping understand just who is speaking. At times the voices in your head can become plenty so adding a little something like this can actually mean allot.
