The PlayStation 5 Pro has been one of the worst-kept secrets in the industry as of late with leaks appearing online after the last few months. Insider Gaming has confirmed via their sources that the leaked documentation from the YouTube channel Moore’s Law is Dead is legit.
Tom Henderson had reported in the past that codename Trinity would target improved and consistent FPS at 4K resolution.
Here are the PS5 Pro specs from the leaked documents:
Rendering 45% faster than PS5
2-3x Ray-tracing (x4 in some cases)
33.5 Teraflops
PSSR (PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution Upscaling) upscaling/antialiasing solution
Support for resolutions up to 8K is planned for future SDK version
Custom machine learning architecture
AI Accelerator, supporting 300 TOPS of 8 bit computation / 67 TFLOPS of 16-bit floating point
The outlet also confirms that Devkits have been available to first-party studios since September 2023 while third-party studios had it since January 2024. The current plan is to release the PlayStation 5 Pro during Holiday 2024, but it could be changed since Sony won’t have a huge first-party games lineup this year.
The PS5 Pro will likely be the most powerful console when it comes out and more than double the speed of the current PlayStation 5 model.
Rumors in the past also suggested that the PlayStation 5 Pro would release at a speculated $600.00 USD price tag.
