The online portion of Red Dead Redemption 2 debuted back in mid-November with an inclusive beta across both platforms and giving players a taste of what’s truly to come when the full version is ready to go live. With the game entering 2019 and Red Dead Online is still in beta, Rockstar has made an update regarding what’s to come and detailed some new features coming to the wester title.

The big announcement from the blog post is the previously rumored battle royale gamemode prior to the game’s late–October release. Today Rockstar Games has revealed that the new mode is titled ‘Gun Rush’ and is available starting today. The battle royale mode pens 32 players in a continuously shrinking play zone where users are put to the test to see who comes out alive.

Among the more ambitious news released for the action RPG: Rockstar also released a handful of other features that will come with the update that released today as well. Such as Team Deathmatch & Free-For-All, the ability to set off posse feuds more easily, daily challenges, and decreased how far player blips will appear on the mini map.

Law & bounty also got a tune up now giving players more to worry about when doing evil when online: if you perform a crime, a bounty will be set on you with heavy repercussions. Managing to out run the local sheriffs and deputies will result with bounty hunters from each state on your tail.

The blog post also inches on about what is planned in the future for Red Dead Online content. Listing dynamic events, new missions with returning story characters, more competitive modes, and an arsenal of weapons along with new clothing too.

Xbox One users are now able to access previously exclusive items thanks to the latest online update:

  • Red Chestnut Arabian Horse
  • Alligator Skin Ranch Cutter Saddle
  • High Roller Double-Action Revolver

Red Dead Redemption 2 is available now for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
