A few days ago it was reported that Rockstar Games has been developing a GTA IV port for modern consoles that could release this year. A new report came out from Gamereactor that Red Dead Redemption 2 might come to the Nintendo Switch 2 this year.
According to the outlet, their sources close to Rockstar Games claim that Red Dead Redemption 2 is going to come to the Switch 2, but also could be getting an upgrade for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S as well.
For PS5 and Xbox Series it would likely be a next-gen upgrade patches that would enhance the graphics and the performance. The 2018 wild west game currently runs at 30 FPS and an upgrade could be needed.
As always we must take reports like this with a grain of salt. And if Rockstar Games is planning to bring Red Dead Redemption 2 to the Switch 2, it could be delayed for all we know. GTA VI was originally set to release in Fall 2025, but was delayed to May 26, 2026 and the Publisher and Developer seem very confident in that date.
Rockstar Games and Take-Two Interactive are no strangers to supporting the Switch platform as we saw LA Noire, Bully, Red Dead Redemption, and the GTA trilogy all come to the Switch 1.
Would you want to play Red Dead Redemption 2 on Nintendo Switch 2?
