Back in August with the release of Remedy Entertainment’s Control, the game’s use of the in-house Northlight Engine shined bright for the title alongside its intuitive gameplay and gripping story. The game also showed to be very demanding of the hardware it runs on including the upgraded Xbox One X and PlayStation 4 alongside PCs as well. This flagged that the project might be a little ambitious for current units foreshadowing that the game would be intended for next-generation systems.

While the title did not break for sure, there were some technical hiccups that would sometimes compromise the experience for average consumers looking for a steady title. Howbeit, the Finnish studio has recently announced that its latest project will be shipping a next-generation version for both Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5.

The announcement follows the recent PlayStation 5 showcase which presented similar current-generation titles like Grand Theft Auto V which will also be receiving reworks for the new consoles.

Reiterating on what was already said, Control is a beautiful game, but it did not exceed its full potential on console. When looking at PC, the title also included elements like raytracing and more stable frame rates that helps the game shine even more than its console counterparts. But users found the game to be taxing on PC when utilizing these additional features – raytracing especially. So hopefully this issue is resolved for the new consoles since both Microsoft & Sony continue to tout raytracing support for coming games.

June also marks the arrival of the first DLC for Control, The Foundation. While yes, the story expansion arrived back in March for PlayStation 4 and PC users, Xbox One owners are still patiently waiting for the addition of the DLC. It is expected to arrive on June 25 for $14.99.
