Report: Ghost Of Yotei & Saros Is PlayStation’s Cutoff For Its Single-Player Games Coming To PC

Following the tragic fallout of Concord just two weeks after shipping the live-service attempt by PlayStation, it was certain that the firm would recourse its ship moving forward in this effort. The company addressed that the business model is still a drive for PlayStation and plans to continue pursuing similar projects in that sphere. It is no secret the success of multiplatform titles with games like Helldivers 2 leading on the Xbox store at the time.

But, some of the changes at PlayStation appears to be more drastic. Although efforts for PC releases like Death Stranding 2: On The Beach are still greenlit, other projects are being shelved along with studios as well. The most noteworthy as of recent is the closure of Bluepoint Games despite its renowned status was shuttered by PlayStation in February. 

In a recent string of claims online, it was understood this also applies to its story-focused titles on PC too. That moving forward, its hallmark games & IPs would no longer ship on the platform. Now from Bloomberg officially, it is reported that is most certainly the case. Its single-player experiences are to be no longer expected on Steam starting with games Ghost of Yotei & Saros.

However, there is still a grey area for this decision. Not its entire release schedule is exempt from the decision. What ever live-service efforts are still in development are intended to ship outside of PlayStation consoles. The recently releases Marathon is an example of that alongside Marvel Tokon as well. This ends a half decade-long campaign from PlayStation to issue its games on Steam to compete against Microsoft’s efforts.

Similarly, series was recently verified to not be shipping for a specific platform amid the shift for multiplatform by PlayStation. In an exchange on X, one user asked Insomniac Games in regard to Marvel’s Spider-Man coming to Xbox. In response, the developer answered “not likely.” You can read the full report by heading here.
