While developer RGG Studio is still running off the recent success of its western release for Yakuza 7: Like a Dragon, the Japanese game studio is quietly working on its next project. While the uncertainty surely is eating at is followers, speculation is the only tool to help when eating away at the impatience. One rumor earlier this year suggested that the developer is working on a new standalone which featured Ryuji Goda as the sole protagonist.

However, the game studio went on to elaborate on other possible avenues. One being 2014 Yakuza Ishin. While unique to Japan, series producer Daisuke Sato did disclose interest in bringing a new version to newer markets with a complete remake. Most noted in a later statement from Sato, he incited that perhaps the likeliness to pursue the remake is sooner thanks to the release of Ghost of Tsushima in mid 2020.

But, while it is still unsure the next game, RGG Studio appears to be teasing something for Judgment. After just releasing the next-gen remaster this past week, the studio uploaded a string of clips which nods towards a potential sequel on Twitter. You can view the tweets below:

This is certainly not the first instance that Rya Ga Gotoku went to express a possible announcement for its Judgment spin-off series. In that, the team earlier on updated the game’s website to feature a countdown for this coming May 7th. While everything points to be a follow-up to the 2018 title, it is still considered conjecture until officially revealed.

Most exciting about the future of Yakuza and like titles is the developer’s continued conquest to make their titles multiplatform releases. In a recent interview with JP Games, Sato disclosed that the team is eager to continue the multiple platform release lineage for newer games. You can read the full report by heading here.

Do you hope Judgment gets a second game?
