sonic frontiers switch 2

Sonic Frontiers is going to be released on Nintendo Switch 2 on June 23, 2026. This would be on Sonic’s birthday, and it will be a Definitive Edition version of the game.

The report comes from Dealabs‘ billbil-kun, who shares that Sonic Frontiers: Definitive Edition will get a physical release as well for $50 in the USA. It is unknown if the physical edition will be on the cartridge or if it’ll be a game-key card.

The outlet cannot confirm if Sonic Frontiers: Definitive Edition would also come to other platforms.

It’s possible this announcement could take place at a couple of events in June. Summer Game Fest comes to mind on June 5th, or the rumored Nintendo Direct that normally takes place in the middle of June.

There are numerous games receiving ratings for the Switch 2 as of late. That includes Devil May Cry 5: Devil Hunter Edition, which is expected to release this summer for the platform.

Sonic Frontiers was released in 2022 for PS4, Xbox One, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
