playstation 5 price increases

This year, the gaming world has slowly started to see an increase in prices for games, accessories, and consoles. Earlier this year, Microsoft raised the price of the Xbox Series consoles and accessories. Nintendo announced price increases for its Switch 1 line of consoles. Today, Sony has announced that PS5 consoles will increase in price.

The three different PS5 consoles will be going up $50 in price for customers in the United States, starting August 21.

PlayStation 5 – $549.99

PlayStation 5 Digital Edition – $499.99

PlayStation 5 Pro – $749.99

Sony Interactive Entertainment said the retail prices for PS5 accessories will see no change and there are no additional price changes to announce for other markets.

Currently, the Nintendo Switch 2 has not seen a price increase since its release in June. The console is now the most affordable on the market, being $449.99. Nintendo has not announced any changes in its pricing.
