What seems to be a break in the matrix with Square Enix is the firm’s welcoming of its once unique releases on PlayStation systems to other platforms like Xbox and even Nintendo hardware. Most eye-opening comes from a late 2019 announcement where the publisher unveiled that an assortment of Kingdom Hearts title will be coming to Xbox One in the approaching months.
Now, a similar string of releases are set to arrive. But, this will be a unique to PC – more specifically Epic Games Store. On Thursday during the Epic Games Store Spring Showcase, Square Enix announces Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 + 2.5 Remix, Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue, Kingdom Hearts III, and Kingdom Hearts: Melody of Memory are arriving to the storefront in late March.
You can watch the announcement trailer in the video below:
Franchise Producer Ichiro Hazama had this to say: “It is truly a great pleasure to bring so many Kingdom Hearts adventures to PC gamers around the world. Our collaboration with Epic Games is one that stretches back to the development of Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue, and as part of this ongoing relationship, the team at Epic Games have been incredibly supportive in helping us make this a reality.
“I’m incredibly excited for so many new players to discover and enjoy the action, magic and friendship of Kingdom Hearts on PC.” Thankfully, the announcement comes to keep fans on PC occupied for the majority of 2021. In a previous interview, Game Director Tatsuya Nomura disclosed the series will be on hold until 2022. You can read the full report by heading here.
