Studio Wildcard reveals ARK: Lost Colony DLC, releases November 2025

Studio Wildcard made an appearance at Game Developers Conference 2025 (GDC) and revealed a two-minute anime-style trailer for ARK: Lost Colony. This is the first all-original ARK: Survival Ascended expansion pack.

The expansion will feature several cinema-grade anime story sequences, created by Japanese animation studio MAPPA. They are known for Attack on Titan, Chainsaw Man, and Jujutsu Kaisen).

In ARK: Lost Colony players will step into ARK survivor Mei Yin, on a soul-searching quest deep into the chilling heart of darkness to find answers to the long-buried secrets of ARK’s past.

ARK: Lost Colony directly connects the storylines of ARK’s Extinction and Genesis expansions and leads into the events of ARK 2. Starring the voice talents of Academy Award winner Michelle Yeoh reprising her ARK: The Animated Series role as Mei Yin, Madeleine Madden (Wheel of Time) as Helena Walker, Auli’i Cravalho (Moana) as Meeka, along with yet-to-be-revealed, fan-favorite characters voiced and depicted for the first time in-game.

The new DLC for ARK: Survival Ascended will present new challenges for survivors as they become the hunted in a vast occupied city, and gain access to powerful new kinds of character abilities, unique gear, building systems, and phenomenally exotic tames.

When Does ARK: Lost Colony Release?

Pre-orders for ARK: Lost Colony will go live in June 2025. All purchases will unlock exclusive ARK: Lost Colony preview gameplay content. The full release is expected to be in November 2025, and the Story DLC will be priced at $29.99 for Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and PC via Steam.
