Although Sega did return to the Super Monkey Ball series with the previous release of Super Monkey Ball: Banana Blitz HD, the firm was not officially finished with the IP entirely it appeared. Following the game’s release, Sega went on to comment that it is excited to serve its fans once again with an implication that perhaps a new release is on the horizon later on.
Fast forwarding to this past April, the first official rating for ‘Super Monkey Ball: Banana Mania’ appeared in Australia over on the Australia Government Department of Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development and Communication ratings board. So, it was only a matter of time before Sega makes the announcement.
Leading to this Tuesday during the Nintendo E3 Direct, the firm unveiled Super Monkey Ball: Banana Mania for Nintendo Switch. You can watch the announcement trailer in the video below:
“Roll through wondrous worlds with AiAi and friends as you race to stop monkey mad scientist Dr. Bad-Boon from blowing up Jungle Island,” says the Nintendo eShop page. “Join the all-star monkey team of AiAi, MeeMee, GonGon, Baby, YanYan and Doctor as you bounce, tilt, and roll your way across hundreds of delightfully crafted levels and mazes. It’s monkey business for the gang – play solo or with friends as you take down Dr. Bad-Boon and steal back your beloved bananas!”
Additionally, Nintendo also went on to announce that Wario is starring in his own game once again. Dubbed ‘WarioWare: Get It Together!’, the game is scheduled to ship for Nintendo Switch later this September. You can read the full report by heading here.
