One the the highlight releases this year, surprisingly, came from Microsoft despite its growing list of controversies. Amid this past spring, it was reported that a remaster for the classic The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion would be released. And, celebrating the anniversary of the game, the rumored remake was released the same day.
In the following weeks, it was revealed that The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered would be played by over four million players across all platforms. However, the game was a digital-only release. But, in recent light of the Xbox firm undoing its damage towards physical releases for titles like The Outer Worlds 2 & Ninja Gaiden 4, there is hope the revisioned 2006 title would also face the same treatment.
On October 13th, a proper physical version for both Xbox & PlayStation is available now. However, it is clarified to only be a limited supply release unlike other physical releases, Bethesda has clarified. “This is a limited time physical release for The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered and will be available while supplies last,” the FAQ answers.
“Base game plus the Shivering Isles and Knights of the Nine story expansions, as well as the additional downloadable content: Fighter’s Stronghold, Spell Tomes, Vile Lair, Mehrune’s Razor, The Thieves Den, Wizard’s Tower, The Orrery, and Horse Pack Armor,” the contents of the release listed included.
It adds: “A code that grants access to Unique digital Akatosh and Mehrunes Dagon Armors, Weapons and Horse Armor Sets, as well as Digital Artbook and Soundtrack App. […] Internet will be required to download full game files and extras, but can be played offline after the initial download.”
