The Outer Worlds 2 Choose Kaur or Milverstreet

Discover everything you need to know about choosing Kaur or Milverstreet in The Outer Worlds 2, including which one to pick.

Minister Milverstreet in The Outer Worlds 2 is introduced as the Minister of Marketing, and he appears during the main quest “The Saboteur of Paradise”. Kaur is an operative type, and she is more combative and straightforward. Siding with any one of them is crucial in the game, as it will highly influence your gameplay. You gain access to the quest A Refreshing Bit of News when siding with the Milverstreet.

Kaur The Outer Worlds 2

Choosing Milverstreet locks you out of Kaur’s questline and the unique weapons that come with it. Siding with Kaur gives you access to the Above and Beyond Repair quest, and you get to do more direct assaults. Choosing Kaur doesn’t give you the same “safe crash location” benefit for Westport that Milverstreet’s route does. In this guide, we’ll discuss side to with Minister Milverstreet or Officer Kaur in The Outer Worlds 2, including their outcomes.

Choosing Kaur or Milverstreet

Let’s solve the problem of whether you should side with Milverstreet or Kaur because you can get four legendary items right at the start of The Outer Worlds 2. This is only possible as soon as you reach the town of Far Fields by visiting the town hall in the center. When you first walk in, you’ll meet Officer Kaur and Milverstreet. After that, you’ll be forced to decide who you want to aid in the next quest line, which is a pretty important decision. Each one gives different rewards, but it’s actually possible to get both of them.

1. Kaur

Kaur

Here’s what you need to do. First, you need to put one skill point into lockpicking. Then that’s going to unlock the ability to get the pickpocketing perk. Using this, you can go and stand behind Commander Kaur and pick her pockets. As long as you’re directly behind her and no other NPC can see you, you have no chance of getting Kaur. This is going to let you steal her war chest key.

You can go and do the same thing with Milverstreet to get his private locker key and 350 bits. Now, all you need to do is head west of Fairfield to the military compound. After that, just simply go inside the compound. Just on the right-hand side, you’re going to find Officer Kaur’s war chest in her personal home. Because you have her key, you don’t need any other skills or lockpicks to open her chest. You can just go ahead and open it and steal 894 bits and her unique Korroder.

This is a chargeable corrosion pistol that deals damage over time, removing the enemy’s armor and making them vulnerable. The goo also bounces off walls and spreads to nearby enemies. There’s also a modded triple-barreled shotgun in here, which causes Kuirass. This is the best heavy armor set you can get early on, thanks to its 40% damage resistance. It also has a spare mod slot for armor plates to reach 50% damage resistance. It has the adrenaline shot ability, which reduces the toxic buildup you get from healing yourself.

2. Milverstreet

Milverstreet

On the east side of town, you can find Milverstreet’s house. Now, after you go through the front door, it’s unlocked. You’re going to find a locker straight ahead, which you can unlock with his key. Inside, you’re going to find another 896 bits and his Limited Production Gentleperson’s Oxonian.

It’s a top hat that makes companion skill recharge up to 30% faster, depending on your speech skill. It also boosts your critical chance by five and damage by 40%. However, you do need to side with Milverstreet to get his unique suit jacket. This gives you 30% damage resistance at the start of each fight. However, it reduces each time you take damage, resets at the start of each fight.

So, I would highly recommend that you actually side with Milverstreet. But Mil Street is now going to task you with visiting the Ministry of Accuracy, which is a building located to the northwest of Paradise Island.

Should You Choose Minister Milverstreet

Choosing Milverstreet The Outer Worlds 2

Minister Milverstreet will send you west to the Ministry of Accuracy to gain some data on mental refreshment as part of A Refreshing Bit of News. He wants the secrets of Mental Refreshment to use for this brainwashing ends. Make sure to follow Milverstreet’s guidance to lock out of the Kaur’s quests. Pass through some hostile creatures to acquire the required info. You will encounter Inez on your way. Inez can be recruited as a companion while returning.

Obtain the Topmost Coast armor and 350-bit cartridges by completing Milverstreet’s task. You can evacuate Westport by getting into the Vox Relay, which gives another task. Sabotage the key infrastructure or attempt skill checks to convince the people. I recommend you do the second task because it provides you with a better solution to a difficult choice.

Doing so allows you to gain a Limited Production Gentleperson’s Oxonian hat, 2400-bit cartridges, and a path to the Vox Relay. You gain a replica of Minister Milverstreet’s snazzy suit and matching hat as a quest reward.

Should You Choose Officer Kaur

Choosing Kaur The Outer Worlds 2

Kaur will send you to sabotage the Protectorate’s Automech Repair Center as a part of Above and Beyond Repair if you choose to side with her. This is basically a thorn in Auntie Choice’s side. You can stop engaging with the Milverstreet’s quests by taking the side of Officer Kaur.

Make your way to the Ministry of Accuracy. Interact with Inez on the way. You will get inside the Automech Repair Center via the pass from the Ministry of Accuracy. However, the game offers other ways to enter the facility. You can choose to solve the issue with a toxic gas or follow Kaur’s command to sabotage it after getting inside the facility. No enemy will attack you if you manage to sabotage it.

Return to the Kaur to gain the Kaur’s Kuirass and the Designator Triple Barrel Shotgun. You also gain a route to the Vox Relay from the Kaur. Follow the route while using the Gas-Energy Deflection Apparatus. This item is acquired from the Automech Repair Center. Kaur will ask a cluster of soldiers to help you in traversing the Vox Relay.

Help Minister Milverstreet

Help Milverstreet

Helping Milverstreet or Kaur grants you advantages. Siding with one of them can be challenging, as you prevent the other’s quests and rewards. Make sure to side with Minister Milverstreet in The Outer Worlds 2. You will avoid the major consequences while choosing the Vox Trajectory by clearing the Westport. If you choose Kaur, then it will result in loss of life and allow Inez to leave your party. However, you will lose the Kaur’s shotgun, which is the best in the game.

Siding with the Milverstreet allows you not to miss the major content of the game. Pay a visit to the Automech Repair Center and accept the quest to deal with toxicity. Kaur is a good option if you prefer guns blazing in the game. You gain the third Vox Trajectory option that neglects deaths due to the Lucky trait or a hacking skill.

Make a wise decision based on playstyle if you’re not interested in rewards or the outcomes. Kaur’s quest prefers combat, and Milverstreet’s quests require stealth. You can make your way to the Vox Relay without helping either the Milverstreet or Kaur.

Hi, I’m Ali. I started gaming with Max Payne, and it set the tone for my interest in darker, more immersive experiences. I mostly play soulslikes, RPGs, and FPS titles that focus on tight mechanics and pacing.

I have a strong appreciation for game soundtracks and how they shape the overall experience. I’m also a long-time horror fan, across both games and films, with a preference for atmosphere-driven storytelling. This space reflects that passion, exploring games through both their mechanics and the atmosphere they create.
