The Switch is Nintendo’s best-selling console at over 155 million units sold

Nintendo has released its latest Financial Results for Q3 2026 and revealed the sales of its software and hardware. The company revealed that the Switch has sold 155.37 million units, making it their best-selling console of all time, taking over the Nintendo DS, which sits at 154.02 million units sold.

The Switch sits behind just the PlayStation 2, which is at 160 million units sold worldwide, according to Sony. It’s very possible that in the next year the milestone will be hit, but with the Switch 2, it may slow the sales down.

Other important notes from the latest Q3 2026 results from Nintendo is the Switch 2 has already sold over 17 million units. The console was released in June 2025 and is the fastest-selling console in Nintendo’s history.

Mario Kart World has also sold 14 million units since its release.
