Twitch announces “Squad Streams” in 2019

At TwitchCon 2018, there were several announcements made about what is next for streamers and viewers. Four streamers will now be able to stream on a single channel allowing viewers to watch the entire squad without multiple tabs open or using Multitwitch. To stay connected the viewer can choose which channel will be their main chat, and go into different chat rooms swiftly. Squad stream is the Twitch answer to youtube’s multi-cam and Mixer’s “Co-stream” functions. Users will see squad streams roll out in 2019, for now we shall use “multitwitch” seemingly for the last time this year.
