Following the announcement of Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, many fans and even Ubisoft themselves did an analysis of the cinematic trailer which properly showcased the Dark Ages-set installment. Just from witnessing the video footage alone, there is evident inspiration drawn from other forms of media surrounding the certain age of man. One in particular is the HBO series Vikings which many compare to witness from the trailer.
Now in a new announcement, Ubisoft shares to be bridging the gap between the ongoing show and the approaching video game as composer Einar Selvik will be involved with curating the OST for this coming holiday’s Assassin’s Cree Valhalla.
Also known by his stage name Kvitrafn, Einar Selvik is a multi-instrumental Norwegian artist. A newcomer to Assassin’s Creed, Selvik has been creating Nordic music for more than 25 years. His credits include soundtrack work on the History Channel TV show “Vikings,” where he also appeared as an actor. He will be writing the original songs for Assassin’s Creed Valhalla’s soundtrack.
Alongside the recognized composer, some other familiar names will be returning for the latest Assassin’s Creed installment. Such as Jasper Kyd who’s worked on Assassin’s Creed II & Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood and Sarah Schachner who composed the soundtrack for 2017’s Assassin’s Creed Origins. Kyd in particular is most known for his efforts in creating the landmark “Ezio’s Family” during what is considered the Golden Age of the franchise following the trilogy of the titular protagonist.
Schachner alongside her part with the first major RPG entry for the series has also worked on other big budget productions such as Anthem and the more recent Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. With the three at helm for the project, surely fans will be satisfied with the full soundtrack coming release later this holiday season.
Previously, Ubisoft during the latest Inside Xbox showcased a glimpse of gameplay for Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. During that, the game was also confirmed to be supporting the ever growing cross-buy Smart Delivery initiative for Xbox Series X. You can read the full report y heading here.
