Regarding Ubisoft’s coming forecast of games, Assassin’s Creed stands to be a prominent property for 2020 as the franchise will be releasing a new entry, Valhalla, later in November the same day as the Xbox Series X & Xbox Series S. Howbeit, another notable franchise being Splinter Cell is still on the back burner. This generation, not one follow-up to 2013’s Splinter Cell: Blacklist has arose from Ubisoft which stands surprising despite the outcry for a new entry.

Howbeit, there are reports that the series will be making its rounds in 2021. In that, Multiplayer.it disclosed that due to the current pandemic, a mainline entry initially set for 2020 will now be arriving next year with an announcement projected to be shared in the coming months. But before either of the entries were even tangible discussions, there were talks of the series returning in another medium: virtual reality.

According to The Information, the publication disclosed that Ubisoft would be corroborating with Oculus to conjure new projects set in both universes for the evergrowing peripheral. Now, Facebook has properly announced the projects during this week’s Facebook Connect.

Ubisoft is now bringing two of its AAA franchises to VR with new entries in the Assassin’s Creed and Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell universes. Both games are being developed from the ground up by Ubisoft’s Red Storm in collaboration with Ubisoft Reflections, Ubisoft Dusseldorf, and Ubisoft Mumbai.

While the firm does not disclose much on the contents of both projects or share even a small glimpse at the two games, we do leave knowing that the both are in the works officially. As for how it will operate ultimately, the translation should be organic in sense to the design of both franchises as internal Ubisoft studios are involved with the development for these games.

Elsewhere during this Facebook Connect, the firm unveiled the Oculus Quest 2. The headset is featured to be cheaper than its 2019 predecessor and offer 50 percent more pixels on screen for clearer pictures presented. You can read the full report by heading here.

What are you interested to learn about the two games later on?
