Thematically, Xbox Game Pass has been a major push for users to stick with Microsoft’s gaming ecosystem. And even with the addition of both Core & Standard tiers in the past, the service still offers a bountiful amount for the asking price. As of this year, the service has reached over 35 million users it is reported. One of the biggest pushes by Microsoft is Xbox Cloud Gaming which ties into Xbox Game Pass.
Primarily for Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, users would be able to access the greater service library and stream supported titles through it. That was until the addition of purchase library went live in 2024. Additionally, this also went on to introduce integration for cross-device compatibility that further propelled the investment by Microsoft for users.
And with recent reports of a cheaper option for users is still on the table as per Jason Ronald, there is a new announcement to get excited for. This week, Xbox Insiders that are on either the Xbox Game Pass Core or Xbox Game Pass Standard tiers will be able to access Xbox Cloud Gaming officially.
“Xbox Insiders subscribed to Xbox Game Pass Core or Standard now have even more freedom to play wherever they are with Xbox Cloud Gaming (Beta). As part of this Insider experience, Xbox Game Pass Core and Standard subscribers will be able to stream cloud playable games included with their subscription or select cloud playable games they own, making it easier to jump in from any supported device,” the Xbox Wire post reads.
“We’re expanding the ways players can experience PC gaming through Xbox Game Pass. As part of testing, Xbox Insiders subscribed to Game Pass Core or Standard will for the first time gain access to PC versions of select titles, giving you even more flexibility and the choice to play on a PC or Windows handheld. […] Whether you’re gaming on console, PC, or streaming via supported cloud devices, this update broadens your library and makes it easier to jump into your favorite games across more screens.”
