
This Summer’s release of Daemon X Machina despite the game’s anticipated advertising only resulted with average reception of the mech battling title. And while the game did still hold a decent rank from reception, it is still worth players to try to out the title when given the opportunity. And for those who still might not be interested, maybe this crossover will change your mind.
In a sudden announcement this week, developer Marvelous revealed that the September-released project will be collaborating with CD Projekt Red to bring The Witcher 3 protagonists Geralt and Ciri to the game. You can watch the two in action with this short trailer below:
Looking from the small glimpse of the two, it seems that you can only look as the two characters from the novels written by Polish author Andrzej Sapkowski. Players will be able to access either personas as specialized cosmetic costumes, but this will not offer any different gameplay elements that aren’t already in the game.
This will be the third recording of Geralt himself breaking the barriers between games as he makes a surprise appearance. First being during the one year anniversary of Monster Hunter World this past January as he introduced a new story arc to the game. Then later in 2019 he returned as a playable character in the then-upcoming Soulcalibur VI.
Ahead of the release for Daemon X Machina, third-party manufacturer HORI announced to be releasing a pair of Pro Nintendo Switch Joy-Cons themed after the at the time approaching title.
