For how Microsoft is propping its coming IPs for the future of Xbox, the platform is reviving legacy franchises while still establishing new properties simultaneously. For one, Halo Infinite alongside Fable illustrates the callback to the original series that defined Xbox then while entities such as Redfall is another example of unique titles for the platform.
Among what was only for Xbox during the 360 era, 1vs100 remained to be a unique approach to the platform then with user-created avatars casted as the player rather than pre-generated models to play. But since 2010, there has yet to be any follow-up to the title. But, Phil Spencer did previously press that he and Xbox Game Studios head Matt Booty “had a lot of discussions about the idea” to bring the game back for new hardware.
After some time, Spencer reiterated with a rekindling hope for a new game back in October last year. He explained there is a new experimental title that fans who’ve been around will surely enjoy. In a recent report from Video Game Chronicles which transcribed the recent Giant Bomb Grubbsnax show, it is indicated that Microsoft is for sure developing a new 1vs100.
1 vs. 100 is coming back. They are definitely making that game… and it seems like it’s coming from the AltspaceVR team. They’re spearheading the project and all of the avatars we saw in the Microsoft Teams thing last week, they’re going to use those avatars and bring that stuff in.

Noted, Microsoft Avatars which were featured by the Microsoft Teams recently will replace those that were casted in the original game. Despite the changes, there is no word as to whom will be hosting the show. Originally, Seattle-based Chris Cashman starred for the original game more than a decade ago.
As for other Avatar properties making an impact for modern hardware, CastleMiner Z developer DigitalDNA Games previously pressed its followers on who might be interested in seeing the title make a comeback – namely a reboot. You can read the full report by heading here.
