In concerns to developer 4A Games, the Metro series studio recently finished up on the release of Metro Exodus early last year. Entering 2020, in May specifically, the development team in celebration for the franchise’s 10th anniversary released the latest title to CD Projekt Red-owned GoG.com.

The decision also falls following the launch of Metro Exodus predating that. The title when initially arriving in February 2019 was only unique to Epic Games Store for the first year withholding the game’s release to other platforms on the PC platform. But now, the game has been welcomed to the latter as time has told.

Now in a new blog post today, 4A Games unveils that Metro Exodus is not done migrating just yet. In that, users on next-generation consoles can expect a complete overhaul for the newest Xbox & PlayStation.

We’re currently hard at work on bringing Metro Exodus to Xbox Series X | S and PlayStation 5 next year. While we can’t share all the details just yet, you should expect major enhancements including faster frame rate, increased resolution, reduced loading times, and stunning Ray Tracing features made possible by the new hardware. The new consoles are amazing, and will allow us to deliver visual enhancements and performance only possible on state of the art PC hardware and RTX enabled cards – until now.

As for what will be included, players are expected to receive a locked 4K resolution with the game targeting 60 frames per second performance or potentially meeting twice that later on. While the firm only spared raytracing support to be found in the upgrade, more is to be shared presumably in 2021 next year.

Also, users that own the game on current-generation hardware can expect the game to be available as well on the newest iteration. Aside from that, 4A Games also discloses that the coming Amazon Luna streaming service is expecting a forecast for Metro Exodus as well. The same can also be said for Mac and Linux as well.

Are you excited to see what new things are coming to Metro Exodus?

Metro Exodus is out now for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC; coming to Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, Luna, Mac, and Linux sometime in 2021.
