When it comes to World of Warcraft, the series looks to potentially be taking a turnaround in anticipation for the upcoming expansion for the decade-old franchise. Back in November during Blizzcon, Blizzard Entertainment announced World of Warcraft: Shadowlands with a mindset to ship the game sometime in 2020.
Although users are offered the ability to play the new experience in beta, the full version is just on over the horizon for this fall. In that, Blizzard Entertainment has announced that Shadowlands will be officially shipping in late October. You can watch the release date trailer in the video below:
“Upon entering the Shadowlands, Azeroth’s champions will encounter an otherworld in disarray,” the syapse for the expansion tells. “Virtuous souls are being wrongfully cast into the eternal darkness of the Maw, while the Covenants—powerful factions who hold dominion over the afterlife’s disparate realms—face ruin and strife as the flow of the Shadowlands’ essential anima mysteriously dwindles.
“As an ancient, long-bound evil gathers the strength to break its chains, players must carve their path through the uncharted reaches of the beyond, forge a pact with the Covenant that most aligns with their own principles and purpose—and ultimately restore balance to the hereafter.”
World of Warcraft as expected is a PC unique title, but earlier this year it was suggested the game could break that boundary with the newest consoles on the way. In that, the approaching Shadowlands expansion was listed on a Ratings Board in Brazil for Xbox Series X. However, Blizzard Entertainment swiftly deemed the listing as inaccurate not too long after being discovered. You can read the full report by heading here.
