Back in August in the drought of details for the approaching Xbox Series X, Microsoft offered some droplets of information regarding the new interface UI for the next-generation unit. It was told that the new dashboard will be a universal interface for Xbox One and the coming Xbox systems arriving later this November. The firm also disclosed that a new mobile app for its platform is also being crunched out for the systems’ release later this fall.

Now in a new blog post, Microsoft has shared some of the finer details regarding latest companion app that will be primed for the next-generation of Microsoft systems. In sum, the new application for Xbox users will find a new client that is reliable and is available today for download.

Although arriving in beta on Android, there are plenty of improvements that can be found on the Xbox app compared to its predecessor. Elements such as a more intuitive interface for easier navigating and the execution of how tabs and icons are organized is flexible compared to its clunky counterpart. One noted addition is Xbox Remote Play: previously known as Xbox Console Streaming, users can project their console to their phone without needing to be in an Xbox Insider.

Unlike xCloud, the feature is operated through wifi connection to use your console on any Android-powered device. In anticipation for the next-generation Xbox Series X/Xbox Series S, Microsoft shared a brief video on how the Xbox app will be integrated for the approaching consoles. You can watch the clip in the video below:

Microsoft further expands on how sharing works by elaborating on how the share button will operate on the Xbox Series X|S controller: tap to screenshot, double tap to record videos, and hold to access your capture library. While primitive, it does prepare users interested in how to use the function when the new systems launch this fall.

Retuning to how players can further their experience on the Xbox app, messaging friends and making parties are also more seamless than ever. Those utilizing the app can pair a Bluetooth headset and talk with friends like you would find on console or PC. Notifications for chatting, party invites, and friend requests are also revamped to be linked among all platforms the app can reach.

In other Microsoft news today, the firm announced to be acquiring Zenimax Media – that including Bethesda and all of its properties. Franchises including Fallout, Doom, and The Elder Scrolls were purchased for $7.5 billion. You can read the full report by heading here.
