For XBOX, many things are shifting for the platform on a technical standpoint. Aside from the obvious new hardware generation on the way, other aspects on the current console is being reapproached. One is Copilot on XBOX: boss Asha Sharma pulled the plug on the effort on XBOX entirely. Another is that physical owners might soon find an entitlement program to claim digital ownership for their games as well via Project Positron.
Elsewhere, there are things that are changing for XBOX that are more upfront. Such as the name itself. After polling fans on social media, Sharma in one swift move rebranded ‘Xbox’ to ‘XBOX’ overnight with all major handles & domains now labeled with the new branding. Additionally, a new ‘Player Voice’ program was launched for users of any background to submit requests that will be directly relayed to Microsoft as well.
As for the well-established XBOX Insiders rings, there is a new update that went live recently which enables more customization to users in the respective tiers. Firstly, there is a new functionality for users to finally display your respected controller in the settings now. This comes after the recent Dashboard customization that rolled out earlier in March.
“The XBOX Accessories app now shows an image of the specific XBOX controller you have connected, including most XBOX Wireless Controllers with a Share button. Whether you’re using a supported standard or special edition XBOX Wireless Controller, or an XBOX Elite Wireless Controller Series 2, it’s easier to confirm you’ve got the right one selected, especially when you’re remapping buttons or adjusting settings to fine-tune your set up.”
And soon, your specific color choice will also be available to be applied to your XBOX profile. “You’ll soon be able to enter a specific hex color code for precise color selection or use the new “match my gamerpic” option to pull a color directly from your gamerpic. Once you’ve picked your color, you can preview how it carries across your console, making it easier to see exactly how your look comes together before you set it.”
