This week officially marks one month since Microsoft unveiled the Xbox Series S and shared the November release date for the system and its sibling console, the Xbox Series X. Given the transparence presented from Microsoft leading up to the September announcement and after, the firm has yet to properly offer a full look at games operating on the new machines.
Yes, there are brief glimpses of certain titles being run on the aforementioned hardware, but not to the extent that Sony Interactive Entertainment has done with its upcoming PlayStation 5. Howbeit, that is expected to change later this month according to a new announcement. In celebration of the achievements made by Xbox Game Studios and its associated teams, Microsoft shares gameplay and other features will be held later in October.
In the new blog post, the firm reflects on some bombastic milestones earned like the top-rated Microsoft Flight Simulator which shipped on PC back in late August and average scored Ori and the Whisper of the Wisps of 90 on Metacritic.
We’ll be sharing even more details on every game being fully optimized this holiday for the launch of Xbox Series X|S later this month, as well as showing more gameplay from these titles, so stay tuned for more.

One of the most exciting reveals from Microsoft is that more than 1.6 billion hours has been clocked in for all Xbox Game Studios titles cumulatively this generation. That includes players enjoying titles on both console as well as on PC for the most part. Not to mention the complete 180 degree turn that Sea of Thieves pulled when reaching 15 million users earlier this summer.
Looking ahead for what is to come from Xbox Game Studios, Microsoft is certainly looking to double-down on first-party experience for the new generation of hardware. With more than 20 teams under Microsoft’s umbrella, there is plenty to anticipated for Xbox as a platform. In addition, Xbox head Phil Spencer told that the new consoles are expected to ship with the most “diverse” first-party lineup at launch. You can read the full report by heading here.
