In concern to Fortnite and the growing popularity and influence for the battle royale, plenty of collaborations resulted from this. For instance, there has been well over a handful of live events that took place through the Epic Games title to present live music alongside live showings for upcoming films that are underway. The firm even collaborated with 2K & Gearbox Software to incorporate a Borderlands event which took over the map for a brief time.
However, this looks to be integrating even more brands as there looks to be exclusive content coming to respected systems. I write that because new leaks point towards Sony Interactive Entertainment’s Kratos from God of War and Xbox Game Studios’ Master Chief of Halo both receiving a skin. As of yet, the two are not confirmed to be officially coming. But, the namely Spartan happened to be datamined from the source code recently.
While Fortnite is a multiplatform title, what interests the idea of console-unique skins is the image for Kratos, actually. In the bottom right corner is a logo for ‘PlayStation Studios’ which is the respected network of teams that develop PlayStation titles. So with the image present, it insinuates that the skin whenever it is to arrive will be available to PlayStation 4 & PlayStation 5 versions of Fortnite.
Of course, that also stretches to the Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S versions of Fortnite as well for Master Chief. As of yet, there is no finding of a Nintendo-oriented skin to finish the speculation. For now, many anticipated there to be a Samus skin from Metroid if the first two are actually legitimate. God of War (2018) game director Cory Barlog made a tweet in response to the leak: take his saying as you will.
On the matter of cosmetics, Epic Games recently unveiled the Fortnite Crew subscription. Paying a monthly fee will give players opportunity to unique items and even throws in the latest battle pass also. You can read the full report by heading here.
