While the next mainline installment for Resident Evil is still not due for another set of months, the franchise is making progress elsewhere outside the realm of video games. For one, the upcoming film is already finishing up on its production phase. It was reported back in October that Constantin Films would be helming the project as the first theatrical release following the handful of titular films starring Milla Jovovich.

As it was disclosed previously, the reporting from Deadline reiterates that the coming motion picture will be a reboot and to cover a more direct approach to the first two video game entries by being set in 1998. Even more, the new film also decided on its casting with the likes of Caya Scodelario as Clair Redfield, Hannah John-Kamen as Jill Valentine, and Robbie Amell as Chris Redfield to be some of those featured in the picture.

Now in a new tweet from the official Resident Evil Twitter account, Capcom unveils that filming for the coming movie has completed finally as production is finally entering post-production.

While there still has yet to be a trailer for the coming film, fans are already aware of when the Resident Evil flick is set to arrive. Last month, production firm responsible for the film was discovered to list the release for the motion picture early – unveiling a September 2021 launch for the film.

Additionally, the Resident Evil reboot film is not the only series-derived movie to release this year. It was announced in September that Capcom is scheduling to release a new CGI picture in 2021 on Netflix. Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness. You can read the full report by heading here.

Do you plan to watch the coming Resident Evil reboot later this year?
