While already with a full grasp on EA Sports’ endeavors with sports simulators, the Electronic Arts subsidiary is planning to return to its roots leading forward. While Madden, NHL, FIFA, and sometime UFC are its most prominent entries, the Professional Golfers Association (PGA) is one series that the has not been brushed upon in quite a couple of years now. But, that is changing leading forward.
In an announcement from Electronic Arts last month, PGA Tour is to be returning. However, this is not to be confused with PGA Tour 2K which is being developed by HB Studio – the team responsible for the 2K-published series, 2K Golf Club. Instead, the new series will be a proprietary series from EA Sports that follows more than five years since the last major golf installment.
Now in a new press release from Electronic Arts, the publisher reveals the box art for EA Sports PGA Tour. More importantly, the firm reveals that The Masters Tournament will be an exclusive feature on unique to the EA Sports franchise. You can view the cover image in the photo below:

Here is what Cam Weber, EA Sports Executive Vice President and General Manager had to say on the arrangement: “We’re honored to partner with Augusta National, home of the Masters Tournament, to feature the course and its traditions exclusively in EA Sports PGA Tour.
“EA Sports is committed to growing the love of sports for everyone, and through our partnerships with the PGA tour, Augusta National and the other majors, we will bring new and longtime fans closer to the biggest events in golf than ever before.”
However, while The Masters Tournament is exclusive for EA Sports, 2K also has its own under its sleeve. In that, the publisher just previously established a deal with Tiger Woods to be featured in coming 2K games leading forward. Woods previously organized his own self-named golf titles with EA Sports.
