While the PlayStation 5 is illustrated to continue thriving for the coming months, corporate Sony is transparent on the matter of restocking consoles. Transcribed by Bloomberg, availability for the latest system is said to be difficult for most of 2021 and the same entering the following year, CFO Hiroki Totoki states. But, changes are already said to be underway for the console as well.

In a separate transcription from Video Game Chronicles, Sony Interactive Entertainment is adamant to restructure the PlayStation 5 silicon. While production is not said to commence until 2022, the statement does inject that the integrity of the shape for the PlayStation 5 will remain virtually the same. However, the PlayStation firm is working different variants in another category.

On Thursday, Sony Interactive Entertainment announced that two new DualSense controllers are arriving in June: Midnight Black & Cosmic Red.

We’re thrilled to introduce two new colors that will be joining the DualSense controller lineup starting next month: Midnight Black and Cosmic Red. Midnight Black features two subtly different shades of black with light grey detailing to reflect how we view space through the night sky, and Cosmic Red offers a striking black and red design inspired by the unique vivid shades of red found throughout the cosmos.

In addition to Sony Interactive Entertainment’s push to break the norm with console gamepads during the release of the DualSense, the color choice for the new controllers is also to play into that as well. This is the first set of new controllers from Sony Interactive Entertainment following the reveal of the Pulse Red, Electric Volt, and Daystrike Camo previously.

While the firm does cater to its fans looking for a black alternative for the DualSense, there is still no sign of an official black PlayStation 5. However, SUP3R5 previously announced to be creating a limited number of black retro-themed PlayStation 5s earlier in 2021. You can read the full report by heading here.
