Although the Fable franchise as we once knew it was gone for good is now back on the main stage for one of the most anticipated releases to hit Xbox next in the approaching future. However, little on the game has been pressed since the title’s initial reveal last summer. Nearly a year since its inception and gameplay has yet to be featured from Microsoft or Playground Games.
One thing for certain is that the game will be operating under the ForzaTech Engine, the same proprietary toll that developer Playground Games made itself familiar with the Forza Horizon franchise. But, while the team is most recognized for the series that spins-off Turn 10 Studios’ Forza Motorsport, does the team also have what it takes for the new project on the way?
Well, Xbox lead Phil Spencer when speaking on the Dropped Frames podcast explained that questioning fans should “take confidence” in the team since being familiar with the success of Forza Horizon 5. You can watch the segment of the podcast in the video below:
“The only thing I can really say about Fable is, seeing the pedigree of the team and Playground, and where they set the bar for themselves in building a game – I think that showed with the Forza Horizon 5 preview that they had – I think people should just take confidence in that [studio director] Gavin [Raeburn] and the team there has that same level of focus on doing something amazing with an IP that we know is really important to a lot of Xbox fans, so we can’t wait to get to show more, but the team is just amazing.”
Currently, Playground Games is underway with concluding development on the full release for Forza Horizon 5. Set in Mexico, the game pushes the standards of previous releases by showcasing a great sense of scale and details in the newest environment for the franchise. The game is scheduled to release in early November.
Playground Games did, however, need to address some lingering concerns regarding Forza Horizon 5. In that, the game was initially framed to only offer 4K resolution at 30 frames per second. But it was later pressed that the game will also offer a 4K 60 frames per second ‘performance mode’ at launch as well. You can read the full report by heading here.
