Summer Game Fest To Be Held June 9th Next Month, To Feature Showings Select In IMAX Theaters

For those that follow annual video game shows the spruce up across the year, most of the major held events are orchestrated and host by Geoff Keighley. This past December, Keighley and his team held 2021’s The Game Awards and was met with record-breaking viewership. In that, more than 1.6 million tweeted the show, 23.2 million votes casted, and over a billion hours viewed of the show was recorded from YouTube alone.

Additionally, Keighley was already confirmed to be involved with the next annual Gamescom Opening Night Live later this August. Keighley will be hosting the show for the third consecutive year since the founding of the show. More exciting is that the Gamescom Opening Night Live show will be making its return to the Cologne, Germany alongside the event as well. 

In a new announcement this month, Summer Game Fest officially has a date for this year. According to Keighley on Twitter, Summer Game Fest is to be held next month on June 9th.

More exciting for anticipated viewers is that you can catch the showing online or even visit a participating IMAX theater in the United States or Canada to view the show on the big screen. “For the first time, experience Summer Game Fest in Imax Live on June 9. Our live event, hosted by Geoff Keighley, will air in select IMAX theaters in US and Canada,” the website for Summer Game Fest reveals.

Noted, Keighley also goes on to verify fan-favorite events are also returning once more in 2022. Namely, Day of the Dev is said to returns with emphasis on “Devs” suggesting there will be more than one show. Also, expect a new partnered Demo Event with Microsoft coming in the approaching weeks if tradition keeps to its pattern as well.
